Fire Safety Services (UK) Ltd was formed in 1999 by Managing Director, David Murfitt. With service centres across the UK, Fire Safety Services provides national and local coverage to many clients from a diverse range of business sectors. The company headquarters is in Kempston, Bedford.
“My career in the fire safety industry began nearly 30 years ago, when I started as a fire extinguisher sales and service engineer in the early 1980s. From here I went into direct sales and progressed to managing a major service centre for a large plc. I saw a fantastic opportunity to build a fire protection business, based on the provision of excellent products, service and added value from highly qualified personnel.”
In 2015-16, the turnover of Fire Safety Services was just under £7.3m, with continued investment in people, training and marketing activity to support this. We now employ nearly 100 staff nationwide and are proud of our position as one of the largest and fastest growing independent fire safety companies in the UK.

We are ISO 9001:2008 certified, BAFE approved, NSI Gold Fire certified, LPCB approved and hold registration under the government backed CHAS scheme for health & safety. Furthermore, we are active members of the industry leading Fire Industry Association (FIA), of which David Murfitt is a Director.
